Hello, I’m Brittany St. John the Owner of LUX&LASH. It’s been quite a journey to get here and I’m so excited for what the future holds. As a little girl I always had a dream of owning a business one day. I would sell items from a stand on the corner of my neighborhood, and I wasn’t your average lemonade stand haha. I had real handmade goods and I was a little entrepreneur at a young age. But sometimes as we grow up, we get further and further from our dreams. However, I’m so excited to tell you my story and to tell you to never give up on those dreams. Let me start from the beginning. . . . .I first studied at the University of Minnesota to be a Pharmacist. After working at a Pharmacy for a short time I figured out that career was not for me. I then switched to become a Clinical Laboratory Scientist. You know, those people on TV that test for fingerprints and blood samples at a crime scene to find the killers? Well that’s what I wanted to do. Well, that was short lived when I found out the U of M made you be in Mortuary Science for that, and there was no way I was going to be spending my days in a morgue! Then I finally thought I had it, I was going to be a Physicians Assistant! I loved science and helping people and learning about the body, but after 4 long years of trying to figure out my life, I felt defeated. I felt like I wasted my time, and money and didn’t want to study for 8 hours a day anymore. I wanted to live a balanced life and travel. I left school for a year and a half and traveled all around the world. I went to 10 different countries and 15 different states. I then felt ready to go back to school for Business and Marketing and wanted to use my degree to become a fashion buyer. I studied fashion design from some of the best professors in Florence, Italy. While living in Italy I traveled to another 9 different countries learning about culture and seeing things I have dreamed of experiencing.
